How to buy research peptides: what to check

When you buy research peptides you want certainty on three things: the product is what the label says, it is pure, and it arrives quickly and discreetly. This guide explains how to check all three, how to read a Certificate of Analysis (COA) and how to recognise a trustworthy peptide shop in Europe.

1. Purity: why ≥99% by HPLC matters

Purity tells you how much of the powder is the intended peptide. It is measured by HPLC (high-performance liquid chromatography): the sample runs through a column and every component shows up as a peak in the chromatogram. The area of the main peak relative to all peaks is the purity percentage.

For reliable research, 98% is the floor; every Virexa Labs batch ships at ≥99% purity. Lower purity means more impurities – truncated or incomplete peptide chains – that can distort your results.

2. Checking the Certificate of Analysis (COA)

A COA is the lab report for one specific batch. Always ask for a batch-specific certificate rather than a generic sample. A proper COA shows at least:

  • product name and batch/lot number (matching the label on your vial)
  • test method: HPLC for purity and mass spectrometry (MS) for identity
  • measured purity and molecular mass
  • laboratory name and test date

3. Lyophilisation, packaging and shelf life

Research peptides are supplied as freeze-dried (lyophilised) powder in a sealed glass vial, a form that is far more stable than a solution. Look for an intact seal, a clear label with amount and batch number, and packaging that protects against light and heat.

Keep unopened vials cool and dark; for longer storage a freezer (−20 °C) is ideal. Our storage and reconstitution guide has the details.

4. How to recognise a trustworthy peptide shop

Before you order, run through this checklist:

  • Clear contact details and a responsive support team
  • Fixed, transparent shipping costs and delivery times per country
  • Secure payment and an email order confirmation
  • Track & Trace and a page to follow your order
  • Batch-specific certificates of analysis published online
  • No medical claims – research peptides are for laboratory research

5. Shipping and payment

Virexa Labs ships from Belgium and Germany: 1–2 business days to Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany (€9.95), 2–5 business days to the rest of the EU (€16.95) and Türkiye (€29.95), and worldwide for bank-transfer orders. Shipping within the EU is free from €250. Orders paid before 3 PM on a business day leave the same day in plain, unbranded packaging.

Pay securely with Pay by Bank in your own banking app, or by regular bank transfer.

6. For research use only

All Virexa Labs products are intended strictly for in-vitro laboratory and research purposes and are not for human or veterinary use. Regulations differ by country – always check your local rules before ordering.
